When you're in love with someone who doubts all the time, maybe those doubts can end up being toxic, and damage the relationship. It is then time to move on. This is the subject of the new single from Ellajay, a wonderful artist from Brooklyn, for whom we had a crush.
No intro, the artist begins directly with the first verse outlining her grievances, and she doesn't hold back. Like a release, the singer explains everything that is wrong with this relationship, and the recipient receives a clear, straightforward message.
Speaking of clarity, Ellajay's voice is incredible and we immediately hooked on her warm tone and her art of handling words.
"Clocking Out" couldn't be more catchy, and you'll probably find yourself nodding your head all over the place. The melody is made to stay in your head, you won't forget it in a few minutes. On our side, we've been singing it for several days in the bathroom, shopping, cooking ... All the time! And we're happy that it's now released so we can stream it from everywhere.
Despite a rather sad writing theme since it is a breakup, Ellajay has managed to make it a sunny alt-pop anthem about newfound freedom. The song acts like a sunbath, you'll be replenishing vitamin C in just three minutes.
This song is the third single released by Ellajay. You can also check out her two previous singles released last year, "Monsters" and "Skydiving", they really worth it.
It's even incredible that it's the third single. We have the feeling that she's been doing this for a lifetime. Having a professional sound is possible from the start if you work hard. The proof is here.

Lyrics
I just wrote another song with lines (me)
About how I am done this time
I’m walking away, walking away, mmm
You don’t pay me half the mind, you
keep me waiting on your time and I’m
Not gonna stay, not gonna stay, mmm
I’ve been patient, I’ve been waiting for you
But you’re not coming through so I’m
Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself
so they keep you warm at night
I’m Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself,
hope they keep you warm at night
I’ve put in a lot of time
With my heart on the line
At the end of the day it’s the end of the day, mmm
I’ve got to head on home
To someone I can love
Who’s not gonna sway, not gonna sway
Mmm
I’ve been patient, I’ve been waiting for you
But you’re not coming through so I’m
Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself
so they keep you warm at night
I’m Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself,
hope they keep you warm at night
It’s 5pm on this loving
I’m not gonna stick around
Waiting forever
It’s 5pm on this loving
I’m not gonna stick around
Waiting forever
I’m Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself
so they keep you warm at night
I’m Clocking out, walking out, talking bout
You can have all your doubts
Hold em close to yourself,
hope they keep you warm at night
Mmm, I’m clocking out, mmm, mmm
