We're not going to lie to you: Dom Malin is an artist we've been following for several months, and we loved his previous releases. We've just been a little too busy to talk to you about them. But here is the perfect opportunity! A new single called "Drama".
With a very catchy chorus and an atmosphere between indie-folk and indie-pop (the acoustic guitar goes very well with the electronic production), "Drama" is a luminous song although the lyrics are a little darker.
The song evokes adultery. A rather difficult theme to tackle in a song, but here Dom succeeds in the exercise to perfection. Of course, the situation is not happy (but in today's world, will you tell me that everything is okay). When it's written with skill and precision, everything becomes more digestible.
"Originally inspired by the marital affair of Midge and her husband Joel from the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Drama reveals feelings of regret when moving on too quickly from a past relationship. Drama is a tongue-in-cheek song, with a nod to the Friends tagline, 'We were on a break!'"
What we like about Dom Malin is its authenticity. He is a simple person, to whom we can talk about anything and everything, and he is an artist that you will find here regularly.
The only problem we found with this song is its length: it's a bit short. But nothing prevents killing the "Repeat" button. That's what we did!
Reach out to Dom Malin
